W-8BEN

Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner

What is the W-8BEN?
This form is for UK investors to claim a reduced rate of US tax on dividends and interest from shares traded in the US. This income will already fall under UK income tax rules.

The W-8BEN is valid for three calendar years after the year in which it is signed. For example, a form signed in February 2002 will expire on 31 December 2005. You must submit a new form when the existing one expires. We'll inform you when you need to fill in a new form.

The Lloyds TSB Share Dealing US trading service is only available to customers who are UK resident.
